 "EGoM approves merger, acquisition guidelines for telecom sector")
The Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM) headed by Finance Minister P Chidambaram, has approved the much awaited guidelines on telecom merger and acquisition.
According to media reports, the quantum of 2G spectrum to be auctioned in January 2014 was also decided by the EGoM.
After the meeting, Telecom Minister P Chidambaram said merger and acquisition guidelines have been finalised and the quantum of spectrum that will be put up for auction in the 2G band has also been finalised.
