Jharkhand government has approved incentives of Rs 15 crore to five companies for their industry-friendly approach towards initiating production and applied for certain incentives offered by the state within six months from the date of production.
Earlier, the state government had given similar incentives to 54 small and medium-scale industrial units.
A screening committee headed by the state chief secretary A K Singh met here recently after a lapse of three years and reviewed the long-standing proposals of 10 enterprises who had applied for the incentives.
The committee approved VAT (value added tax) reimbursement incentives for four companies. The state government has been offering incentives to industries on capital investment, captive power generation, interest paid to banks, stamp duty and registration, employment generation.
