Hundreds of supporters of the 15-party Left-socialist-democratic combine yesterday demonstrated before the district collectorates across Bihar demanding resignation of Chief Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav.
The demonstration was reported to be peaceful throughout the state, official sources said.
In Patna, the Bihar Samajwadi Party president, Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu yadav, mp, led the demonstrators before the district collectorate in support of the demand.

More than 1,500 activists of different parties and organisations of the combine participated in the demonstration here, Yadav claimed.
The parties and organisations making up the combine include the CPI, CPI (M), CPI-ML (Liberation), Samajwadi Party, Marxist Coordination Committee, Forward Bloc, Lokshakti and Bihar Bachao Morcha.
The combine has planned a series of agitational programmes to press the demand for the chief ministers resignation ever since the CBI formally sought the state Governor, A R Kidwais sanction for prosecuting Yadav in the Rs 950-crore fodder scam.
The Left and democratic parties have called a 48-hour Bihar bandh on June 12 and June 13 preceded by a three-hour road blockade in all three district headquarters of the state on May 28 to press their demand. The front came into being on May seven.
Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party yesterday urged president Shanker Dayal Sharma to dismiss the Yadav government for the chief ministers refusal to step down.
In a fax message to Sharma, the Bihar unit president of the Samajwadi Party, Pappu Yadav, alleged that the chief ministers refusal to resign from office was an affront to the Constitution of India. A constitutional crisis has already gripped the state and it has become necessary to dismiss the Laloo Prasad Yadav government and impose the central rule, he said.
