Between now and the winter session of Parliament, Ordinance Raj will rule. With Parliament being adjourned sine die on Monday, two days ahead of schedule, the government will promulgate ordinances to address conditional access for cable TV, cancellation of petrol pumps, NPAs in nationalised banks and electoral reforms. Significantly, on all these issues, there are differences between the government and the opposition.
Just a week after the controversy over petrol pump allotments broke out, the government has decided to give a legal framework to the cancellation of allotments through a piece of legislation. The Congress had also demanded a legislative back-up to the Prime Minister
