Godbole Fixes Dabhol Tariff At Rs 2.40 Per Unit

The Madhav Godbole Committee has recommended that there should be a capital restructuring of the Enron-promoted Dabhol Power Company (DPC) and the cost of power sold from the project should be brought down to Rs 2.40 per unit.

The committee, which submitted its report to the state government today, has also said that the LNG contract for the project should be renegotiated as this will help in bringing down the power tariffs and protect it from the fluctuations in rupee against the dollar.
