Says Assam govt has allocated Rs 1,000 cr for higher education in the state

"The higher education scenario has definitely changed a lot in the past 10 years in Assam," said Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi here today.

Gogoi added that the Assam government has allocated Rs 1,000 crore for higher education in the state and many educational institutions of "national importance" would come up in Assam under public-private partnership.Gogoi was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the first academic session of Indian Institute of Information Technology-Guwahati (IIIT-G).
