The Income Tax Department will share information about assessees with the Cabinet Secretariat, Intelligence Bureau, Narcotics Control Bureau and National Investigation Agency. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has come out with a notification in this regard. 

Currently, the department shares such information with 50 agencies including the registrar of companies, the Securities and Exchange Board of India and the financial intelligence unit.
