Under its need based economic rehabilitation programmes, Ahmedabad-based International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development has trained over 13000 rural widows in Gujarat in setting up their own businesses. ICECD also provides incubation and hand-holding facilities for couple of years for these businesses.

"ICECD has been the vanguard of micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) development amongst various target groups and has worked extensively in the state and around the globe to increase access and control of the poor on productive resources and facilities. ICECD has been a pioneer in implementing need based economic rehabilitation programmes for over 13,000 rural widows in Gujarat through unique ICECD models development over 20 years of grass roots experience," said Hina Shah, director, ICECD.
