The Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (IED), a nodal agency of the Orissa government, has imparted training to 250 members of Women Self Help Groups (WSHGs) called Shakti-Sahayikas.
The trainees mostly belonged to the districts of Kendarapara, Jagatsinghpur and Mayurbhanj and the programme was sponsored by the department of Women and Child Development (W&CD) through Mahila Vikas Samabaya Nigam (MVSN) under Mission Shakti. While the total training duration was 6 months including 3 months of field training.
The training comprised of formation of Women Self Help Groups (SHGs), modus-operandi of WSHGs, federation formation at the block level. Similarly, they were taught on self employment related activities like project report preparation, business opportunity guidance and assessment of marketing potential.
