India and Latvia today signed an agreement to enhance two way flow of investment and technology.

"The agreement aims at enhancing bilateral investment and technology flows between the two countries by creating favourable conditions for investors," an official statement said.

The Bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (BIPA) was signed by Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma and Latvian Minister of Economics Artis Kampars.

The pact provides for an elaborate dispute resolution mechanism to settle rows relating to investments between an investor and the host government. The dispute resolution mechanism includes recourse to negotiations, domestic dispute resolution mechanism and international arbitration, it said.
