India will come out of this global economic recession faster than any other country in the world, a top IT industry official said.

"We will come out of it earlier than other countries," IT major Infosys Technologies' Co-Chairman Nandan Nilekani said here today, while attending a function at the Vidyanagari Campus in Kalina in the city to talk about his book 'Imagining India: Ideas for the New Century'.

India's GDP is consumer-driven, he said, adding that India was least dependent on exports.

This is the reason why India would come out of the recession sooner than other countries, he said.
