Indocopters Private Ltd, distributor of Eurocopter helicopters in India, is planning to set up a helicopter maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in Bhubaneswar.
This would be the Noida-based company’s fourth service centre in India after Delhi, Mumbai and the recently launched Bangalore facility, according to Chief Executive Officer Rohit Kapur.
Speaking to the media at India Aviation 2010 here today, he said the company had invested Rs 150 crore for setting up the three MRO facilities. It would also set up quick service teams to attend to repairs on-site.
The company signed contracts to sell four helicopters to Mumbai-based companies, including two to Summit Aviation and one to Morey Group of Companies. Kapur did not name the fourth company. He said the total value of the four helicopters was around 15-18 million euro and these would be delivered in a year or so.
Set up in 2006, Indocopters has so far sold about 20 units. It is now facilitating sale and purchase of pre-owned helicopters. “The demand for pre-owned helicopters is growing from price-sensitive clients,” Kapur said, adding the company was also sourcing helicopters for Eurocopter’s pre-owned helicopter channel.
