Jharkhand: BJP leads in 4, three independents also ahead

The BJP was leading in four of the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies in Jharkhand while three Independent candidates, including former Chief Ministers Madhu Koda and Babulal Marandi, had also forged ahead as per early trends available here today.       

Koda was leading by a margin of 17,329 votes against his nearest rival Bagun Sumbrai (Cong) in Singhbhum (ST) constituency while former assembly Speaker and Independent nominee Inder Singh Namdhari was leading by 4,335 votes over former Bihar minister and RJD candidate Nagmani in the Chatra Lok Sabha seat.       

Jharkhand Vikas Morcia (Prajatantrik) candidate and former chief minister Babulal Marandi was leading by 12,648 votes against his nearest rival Rajkumar Yadav (CPI-ML-Liberation) at the completion of the third round.      

Union minister for Food Processing Subodh Kant Sahay of the Congress was leading by 4,273 votes against his BJP rival Ram Tahal Choudhury in the Ranchi Lok Sabha seat after second round of counting.      

Former union finance minister and BJP leader Yashwant Sinha had opened up a narrow lead of 800 votes over his Congress rival Sourav Narayan Singh in Hazaribag.

JMM President and former Chief Minister Shibu Soren was trailing against BJP's Sunil Soren by 7,662 votes from Dumka Lok Sabha constitutency at the end of second round of counting.     

BJP's Nishikant Dubey had established a narrow 60 vote lead over JVM(P) Pradip Kumar Yadav from Godda Lok Sabha seat after the first round of counting.     

Karia Munda (BJP) was leading by 11,996 votes over his nearest Congress rival Niel Tirkey in the Khunti Lok Sabha seat after the end of second round.     

Independent candidate Chamra Linda was leading by a slender 211 votes against BJP's Sudarshan Bhagat at the end of the first round of counting in the Lohardaga Lok Sabha constituency. Union minister and Congress nominee Rameshwar Oraon was trailing in the seat.
