In another setback to the B S Yeddyurappa government in Karnataka, minister for information technology and biotechnology, Katta Subramanya Naidu, resigned after an FIR was filed against him by the Lokayukta over a land deal. He is alleged to have sold the land to the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board — a state agency with the mandate to acquire land for industrial purposes — and repurchased it at lower rates to set up a software park. The FIRs were also registered against nine others, including his son Katta Jagadish Naidu.
