Fertilisers and Chemicals Travanocore Limited (FACT) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) for quality analysis of FACT organic manure for a period of two years.
The MoU was signed by TR Gopalakrishnan, registrar and director of Research, KAU, and VK Anil, general manager -marketing, FACT, on Monday at KAU, Thrissur.
Under the agreement, KAU will collect samples of city compost manufactured by corporations/municipalities at Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Kottayam and Kozhikod every fortnight and analyse the same at its labs for determining various parameters like moisture content, colour, odour, particle size, bulk density, content of organic carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus and potash.
Only the successful lots will be labelled as 'FACT Organic' by the central government enterprise.
