Maharashtra Planning Groups For Scrapping Govt Guarantees

The 14 study groups, set up under the chairmanship of the Maharashtra Planning Board (MPB) executive chairman Ratnakar Mahajan, have suggested that a clear distinction be made between merit and non-merit subsidies so that the latter may be withdrawn. The study groups have also suggested doing away with the policy of giving government guarantees.
