Ministry To Rationalise Tariffs For Hydro Projects

The power ministry is working on a comprehensive package for rationalisation of high tariffs of capital intensive hydro power projects in the initial years following commissioning. This includes developing a unified tariff structure for such projects and devising specific financial instruments which can be floated for raising capital for hydroelectric projects.
