In a first reaction on the indictment of former minister Amit Shah by the CBI in the 2006 Tulsiram Prajapati fake encounter case, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has lashed out central agency accusing it of being 'hostile' towards the state.
Inaugurating the newly-built civic centre for Nadiad town yesterday Modi challenged the Union government to compete with Gujarat on the front of development rather than playing ‘CBI games’.
"Central agencies like CBI and Income Tax make hostile treatment with Gujarat. But no matter how much injustice the Delhi sultanate cause to Gujarat, it will not succeed in downing Gujarat," Modi said.
This was the first reaction by the Chief Minister on the CBI chargesheet filed against Shah and 19 others including senior IPS officers for their alleged roles in the fake encounter of Tulsiram Prajapati. Shah and others have been charged for criminal conspiracy and destruction of evidence.
"Delhi Sultanate is treating Gujarat like an enemy nation but come what may, Gujarat will never bow to their injustice," Modi stated.
Taking a dig at UPA government in the Centre, Modi said, "The government in Centre is like an engine without a driver. Their past practice has been of inducing enmity in the name of castes and creeds. But our route is that of peace and unity."
