The meeting of all director general of police and chief secretaries on national counter terrorism centre (NCTC), remained inconclusive as state ruled by non-Congress governments continued their opposition to the anti-terror organisation. Although top officials of state governments agreed “in-principle” to set up an effective anti-terror mechanism, there were several divergent views and senior bureaucrats of Opposition ruled states pointed out that there was need to rework the NCTC order.

Senior officials of the ministry of home affairs suspect that implementation of NCTC might get further delayed now and a final decision on the issue is only possible after the meeting of chief ministers of all state governments which is scheduled to take place on April 16.
