Telecom operators added 13.44 million wireless subscribers in February 2009, a dip of nearly 13 per cent over the number of users added in the previous month, sectoral regulator Trai said today.
In January, the operators added 15.41 million users, Trai said in a statement.
The wireline connections, however, continued to decline with the subscriber base decreasing to 37.73 million in February 2009 from 37.75 million users in January 2009.
The total number of telephone connections reaches 413.47 million in February 2009 compared to 400.05 million in January 2009, it said.
The overall tele-density reached 35.62 per cent in February 2009 against 34.50 per cent in January 2009.
Total Broadband subscribers base reached 5.85 million by the end of February 2009 as compared to 5.65 million by the end of January 2009.
