The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has awarded four projects worth Rs 5,527 crore last month to be built on build, operate and transfer (BOT) basis, out of six for which it had received bids beginning February last week.

"We have awarded four projects, including Rs 484-crore Nagpur-Wainganga stretch in Maharashtra to JMC projects and Rs 530-crore Kota-Jhalwar scheme in Rajasthan to one KTG," an NHAI official said.

NHAI had received bids with premium for these six projects, valued at about Rs 8,588 crore, he added.

Projects under revenue share/premium basis are such schemes where the bidder offering the highest revenue share/premium is awarded the same.

The Authority, last month, also awarded 244 km Beawar-Pali-Pindwara project in Rajasthan to Larsen & Toubro worth Rs 2,388 crore, he said.

Besides, it also awarded its first ultra mega project -- six-laning of Ahmedabad to Vadodara section of National Highway-8 on Design Build Finance Operate Transfer (DBFOT) Toll basis, to IRB Infrastructure Developers.

"The NHAI would soon award remaining two projects in West Bengal -- Barwa-Adda-Panagarh and Dhankuni-Kharagpur worth over Rs 3,000 crore. The projects could not be awarded last month because of ongoing elections in the state", the official said.

NHAI has already received bids for the projects.
