In a state wide raid on Sunday, the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) recovered valuables worth Rs 1.5 crore from nine different officers belonging to different state departments across eight cities.
 
According to sources, ACB seized nine proportionate assets of government of Gujarat officials red handed, which include two class one officers, three class two officers and four class three officers.
 
However, the sources refused to disclose whether IAS officers are also being targeted in the raid.
 
The raided officers belonged to cooperative department, police department, mines and minerals, forest department, panchayat, PWD, municipal corporation other than AMC and one from education department.
 
Different team of ACB officials raided 29 assets from eight cities including Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Vadodara, Surendranagar, Mehsana and Rajkot, informed sources.
 
However, sources in the ACB said, "Further information will be disclosed once the operation is completed. On Monday we might recover more valuables from other department officials."
 
Meanwhile in Vadodara, the Anti Corruption Bureau raided two high ranking government officials on the charges of corruptions.
 
The ACB officials caught two top government officials in their net after recovering assets beyond there financial capacity.
 
The ACB team caught hold of Nagin Chauhan, a first class officer of district register office in Vadodara.
 
As per the ACB sources, assets worth Rs 24,34,870 has been recovered from Chauhan during the search at his resident.
 
Chauhan also holds an administrative officer post in Swaminarayan Cooperative Bank in Vadodara.
 
However, as per the sources, this is not the first time that Chauhan has been caught by the ACB.
 
Earlier on February 23, 2005, ACB officers had nabbed Chauhan red handed while he was taking bribe of Rs 50,000.
 
The second person under the ACB's scanner was Promod Soni, a general manager in Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) of Palandhro village of Bhuj (Kutch-Bhuj).
 
The ACB team raided Soni's resident and recovered assets worth Rs 20,76,523.
 
The ACB team even searched two shops owned by Promod Soni which are located in the posh locality of Vadodara. Soni has two shops at center point complex in Alkapuri, which are at present given on rent.
 
The ACB team searched at Promod Soni's residence but failed to find illegal assets.
 
However, the house has been sealed by the ACB authority and police guards has also been deployed at the resident premises.
