Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has approved the setting up of a ‘State Innovation Council’ for evolving new process and structures to enhance the delivery of services and improve the performance of the government.
The council would be a small group of experts with members drawn from both government and non-government outfits. The Centre for Good Governance would act as a nodal agency for the council, according to an official press release here on Monday.
Among other things, the council would make efforts for evolving an Indian model of innovation, with focus on inclusive growth besides encouraging multi-disciplinary and globally competitive approaches for innovations.
It would be set up on the lines of the 15-member National Innovation Council established by the Centre under the chairmanship of Sam Pitroda, adviser to the Prime Minister on public information infrastructure and innovations.
