US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle left for New Delhi today after completing the Mumbai leg of their visit which saw successful interactions with business leaders, youth and school students in the city.

Air Force One, the President's official plane, took off from Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport this afternoon.

Earlier, the Obamas arrived at the airport in suburban Mumbai in Marine One -- the chopper carrying the US President -- from a Naval base in South Mumbai.

In view of the US President's departure, flight movement at the CSIA airport was shut for 38 minutes, an airport spokesperson said.

The US president was given a send-off by Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan and other officials.

The Air Force One had touched down at the Mumbai airport yesterday.

During his two-day stay in Delhi, Obama will have a hectic schedule including a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan, visit to Rajghat and Humayun's Tomb and other engagements such as his talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his address to Parliament.
