The Confederation of Indian Industry, Organising Committee of Commonwealth Games 2010 and Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce entered into an agreement to boost business ties between India and Canada.
As per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) business organisations of the two countries would promote bilateral economic and trade relations, spokesperson of ICCC Pankaj Mehra said yesterday.
The 'Business Club of India' would bring together Commonwealth business leaders to explore new ideas, analyse current scenarios and exchange thoughts on economic growth through global partnerships.
Tarlochan Singh, Chairman of Media Committee, Organising Committee Commonwealth Games 2010, Renuka Singh of CII and Asha Luthra, President of ICCC signed the MoU at a ceremony attended by the Consul General of India Preeti Saran and other officials of Canadian business community.
"We believe that participation of Canadian business leaders in this forum will contribute in realising our mutual goal of increasing bilateral trade three times in the next five years," Saran added.
The ICCC would promote activities of the Club in Canada and generate awareness and interest in business conferences that may be organised during the Games.
