A Pakistani anti-terrorism court has remanded three LeT operatives arrested on suspicion of involvement in the Mumbai attacks to judicial custody for 12 days. Judge Sakhi Mohammad Kahut remanded LeT activists, Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, Zarar Shah and Abu al Qama to judicial custody till March 31.
The judge issued the order yesterday after officials of the Federal Investigation Agency, which had custody of the three suspects, said they had completed their preliminary probe. A fourth suspect, LeT operative Hamad Amin Sadiq, is already in judicial custody.
The four men are facing charges under the Anti- Terrorism Act, Pakistan Penal Code and Prevention of Electronic Crimes Ordinance.
Judge Kahut is conducting the hearings in-camera within the high-security Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. The suspects are also being held in the same prison.
The FIA registered a case on February 12 against nine suspects for alleged involvement in the Mumbai attacks.
The suspects are Lakhvi, Shah, al Qama, Sadiq, a suspect identified only as Khan, Javed Iqbal, Muhammad Ashfaq, Muhammad Riaz and Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone terrorist captured by Indian authorities during the attacks.
