UPA is set to return to power with about 250 seats, according to TV projections based on leads in 491 out of 543 Lok Sabha constituencies.
NDTV projected 242 to 249 seats for UPA in which Congress alone is expected to get 172 seats on its own while NDA tally is put at 150, of which BJP would get 118.
The Third Front is expected to bag 71 seats and the Fourth Front consisting of SP, RJD and LJP is expected to get 33 seats. BJP spokespersons, however, downplayed the figures saying that these were only early trends and the race was too close for such projections.
CNN-IBN projected the UPA at 223 seats and NDA at 148, the Third Front at 62 and the Fourth Front at 26. Aaj Tak gave UPA 228 and NDA 150 while Star News gave 221 to UPA and 132 to NDA.
