Punjab gives nod to big projects worth Rs 1,900.2 cr

The Empowered Committee of Punjab has approved three mega projects and one super-mega mixed use integrated Industrial Park Project with an investment of Rs 1,900.2 crore.

Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said the empowered committee, in its meeting held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal yesterday, approved a mega manufacturing project at a cost of Rs 210 crore at Nangla village in Bathinda district over an area of 48 acres.

The Committee also approved a film city at Dera Bassi in Mohali at an investment of Rs 111 crore.

The committee also gave its approval for setting up of a trade centre at an investment of Rs 360 crore at

Dhandari Kalan in Ludhiana. It will consist of a convention centre-cum-exhibition hall and conference halls, hotels, office space, educational institutions and organised factory outlet shopping.

Apart from these, the committee approved a super mega mixed use integrated industrial park project being developed by Janta Land Promoters Ltd in Mohali over an area of 290 acres at an investment of Rs 1,219.2 crore.

In another important decision the committee also gave nod to delink the company/main promoter/any director of the company who had defaulted with the state government or its institutions from fresh investments to boost the state industry in a big way.
