Bearing The Seal
- Rajasthan Cabinet earlier this month decided to amend the Rajasthan Bovine Animal (prohibition of slaughter and regulation of temporary migration or export) Act
- The amendment, which is awaiting Presidential assent, removes ‘Nagori’ bull over two years old from the purview of transportation curbs
- Rajasthan government to take necessary precautions to ensure that relaxation of Bovine Act isn’t violated
- The transportation would be allowed only for agriculture purposes and not for slaughter and in only those states which have cow slaughter laws in place
- ‘Nagori’ is highly priced draught animal used in farm fields for ploughing
