RBI sets rupee reference rate at 66.8943 against US dollar

Exchange rates for the pound and yen were based on reference rates and cross-currency quotes at noon

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday fixed the reference rate of the rupee at 66.8943 against the US dollar and 72.9750 for the euro.

The corresponding rates were 66.7411 and 73.1482, respectively on October 20.

According to an RBI statement, the exchange rates for the pound and yen against the rupee were 81.9589 and 64.40 per 100 yen, respectively, based on reference rates for the dollar and cross-currency quotes at noon.

The SDR-rupee figure will be based on this rate, the statement added.
