"The way the city is growing, development of social infrastructure is very much needed. For this reason, we have focused more on social infrastructure development projects for the next fiscal," said Ajay Bhadoo, commissioner, RMC.
The corporation will set up community centers, gardens, sports complex and develop Aji and Nyari river sites under social infrastructure development projects. In all, RMC will spend about Rs 220 crore on it.
Overall, the municipal corporation has proposed budget of Rs 2,000 crore for the year 2014-15. Out of this, RMC has proposed Rs 660 crore for affordable housing for middle class under Rajiv Gandhi Aawas Yojana and Mukhyamantri Gruh Yojana, whereas Rs 220 crore will spend on social infrastructure developments. The rest of the budget amount will be allotted for other developments.
