"The nuclear deal is in the interest of the country and the RPI will vote for the confidence motion," party national president and Lok Sabha member Ramdas Athavale told reporters in Raipur today afternoon.
With three days to go, every vote now counts for the survival of the UPA government. Ahead of the Tuesday's trust vote, the RPI today cleared its stand over the controversial nuclear deal and asserted that it would support the government.
"The Left parties are blackmailing the UPA government and have now formed un-holy alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to vote against the UPA government," Athavale said, adding that the secular credential of the Left parties are now at stake after it joined hand with the saffron brigade.
The RPI national President said the controversial deal had nothing against the country and it would not put a cap on India's strategic capacities.
