Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a Steel Authority of India (SAIL) unit, joined the Orissa government and others in providing relief material to the flood victims in the state.
B.N. Singh, MD, RSP convened an emergency meeting of the officers of RSP on 23rd September and issued instructions to the officers of CSR and related departments for holding discussions with the state government officials so that meaningful and appropriate relief can be rushed to the flood victims.
RSP authorities held discussions with district magistrate, Khurda and ADM, Bhubaneswar, to decide the appropriate items and area for distributing the relief material.
RSP procured large number of saris, towels, 1 lakh water pouches, 2 tonnes of biscuits, plastic sleeping mats as well as sufficient number of candles and matchboxes for distribution at villages Kulasahi and Naranpur of Balianta block, near Bhubaneswar.
