S C Jamir tipped to be next Governor

Veteran Congress leader and five-time chief minister of Nagaland, S C Jamir is tipped to be the new Governor of Odisha. Jamir, 82, will replace the present incumbent M C Bhandare whose tenure ended on August 20 last year but has been continuing at the top constitutional post as his successor was not announced. Considered as one of the architects of modern Nagaland, Jamir has also served as Governors of Maharashtra and Goa. Jamir's was first elected to Lok Sabha in 1961. As Union minister, he served in the miniseries of Railways, labour & rehabilitation, cooperation and food & agriculture.
