| The main objective for conducting the international seminar is to bring global participation from industry, government departments, academic institutions and R&D organisations to discuss broadly on research and development in the field, emerging trends, challenges, opportunities related to ceramics, Y Sivasagar Rao, chairman and managing director, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, and chairman of the National Organising Committee, CERATEC-2007, told mediapersons here. |

| On this occasion, L Venugopal Reddy, vice-chancellor, Andhra University, and chairman, National Advisory Committee, CERATEC-2007, announced that Andhra University was planning to introduce a ceramic course in B-Tech from the next academic year. |

| The seminar is being organised jointly by Indian Ceramic Society, All India Pottery Manufactures' Association and Indian Institute of Ceramics. Visakhapatnam Steel Plant is the main sponsor. |
