Rajasthan home minister Shanti Dhariwal, who allegedly had a role in the recent Bharatpur riots, found a place in the reconstituted state Pradesh Congress Committee.
However, other controversial cabinet ministers, including state water resources minister Mahipal Maderna, were dropped from the PCC.
Maderna was in the eye of a storm after the police named him in the FIR in the disappearance of nurse Bhanwari Devi. Mahipal's father Parasram Maderna, who is ailing, is among the permanent invitees to the executive committee along with several former PCC presidents, chief minister Ashok Gehlot and Union minister C P Joshi.
Shanti Dhariwal is a prominent member of the 32-member executive committee and is also on the 11-member coordination committee, where PCC Chief Chandrabhan and Union Ministers Joshi and Sachin Pilot, and senior MP Girija Vyas are also members.
Controversial ministers, who have not figured in the new PCC committee, included Babulal Nagar and Ramlal Jat. While Nagar was party secretary earlier Jat was with the Kisan Morcha. The reconstituted committee has nine vice presidents, an equal number of general secretaries and 39 secretaries.
A six-member disciplinary committee has also been set up under the chairmanship of Heera Lal Indora.
A 33-member flagship programmes monitoring committee was also constituted.
