The per capita income in Orissa during 2007-08 was Rs 16,149 as per the estimates of the state directorate of economics and statistics.
This is based on the 1999-2000 constant prices, according to the state planning and co-ordination minister A U Singhdeo. He said, Orissa ranked third among the states in terms of growth of the per capita net state domestic product (NSDP), next to Haryana and Gujarat. The national per capita net state domestic product was Rs 15,881 in 1999-2000 and increased to Rs 29,642 in 2006-07. The per capita net state domestic product in Orissa increased from Rs 10,567 to Rs 20,240 during this period.
