There is no proposal before the Tripura Left Front government to advance the date of assembly election in the state, deputy chief minister M Baiddyanath Majumder said here yesterday. Election to the Tripura assembly would be held before April 1998, he said, ruling out speculations of an early election. He said the state has taken steps to implement the Minimum Needs Programme.
