UN condoles death of cyclone victims in India, Bangladesh

The top United Nations humanitarian official has expressed his sadness over the loss of life and property damage caused by a cyclone in India and Bangladesh and offered relief assistance to the victims.
According to media reports, Cyclone "Aila" has claimed over 100 lives altogether in the two neighbouring countries.
In a statement, John Holmes, Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, extended his condolences to the affected, and said that the UN "stands ready to assist as required".
