| LMC had transferred 170 acres to Sahara Housing, a sister concern of the Sahara Group, in 1994 in the Gomti Nagar area after taking it from the Lucknow Development Authority. |

| According to sources, the government has accepted the contention of Sahara Housing that the transfer and subsequent construction on the land was in accordance with the rules. |

| The transfer was cancelled by the BJP Government in 1999 saying the Corporation was not the owner of the land and so could not enter into an agreement with Sahara. |
