The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to constitute a committee to resolve problems being faced by journalists, including security for them during coverage of events, officials said.

The committee, to be headed by the principal secretary (home), would include principal secretaries of the ministries of information, housing and urban development, medical and health, transport as well as director general of police and estate officer besides three members from print and two from electronic media, a home department spokesman here said. Director (information), the secretary of the committee, said the order has been issued by Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan. Secretary of UP Accredited Correspondents Committee, Siddharth Kalhans said that the committee would address the problems of journalists related to housing, transport and other issues.
