The United States today said that it encourages dialogue between India and China to sort out any issues  that divides them.

"We encourage dialogue between India and China in working out any issues that divide them," State Department spokesman Ian Kelly told reporters at his daily press briefing when asked about differences between the two Asian neighbouring countries.

Kelly said he is not aware if this issue would come up for discussion with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton when Union Home Minister P Chidambaram meets her at the Foggy Bottom headquarters of the State Department later today.
