Prominent Congress leader Prof K V Thomas, who was elected from the Ernakulam Lok Sabha constituency, said on Sunday his priority will be waste management in the city, with the cooperation of the Kochi Corporation.
Addressing a meet-the-press programme of Ernakulam press club here, Thomas, an MLA, said 'I was very confident of winning even though I initially trailed behind the LDF candidate Sindhu Joy'.
Thomas said he will take the initiative to solve "problems" connected with the mega project International Container Transhipment Terminal (ICTT).
Thomas said he will be leaving for Delhi this evening. Thomas, who had trailed Sindhu Joy till 60 per cent votes were counted, came back strongly to emerge winner by over 10,000 votes.
