The list of people living below poverty line (BPL) in West Bengal would be ready in a month's time, state Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Subrata Mukherjee said.

Replying to a calling attention motion in the state Assembly on Monday, Mukherjee said there had been a discrepancy in the number of BPL people calculated by the Centre and the state. While as per the state's calculation, the percentage of people in the BPL category was 48 per cent, that of the Centre was 28 per cent. He said the state would have to get fund for the remaining 20 per cent for which it had asked the Centre to prepare a fresh list.
