Zero visibility hits air traffic in Kolkata

Zero visibility due to dense fog has affected air traffic at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport here, airport sources said.

Visibility which was around 0.55 metres at 11 pm last night dropped to zero around midnight and hovered around zero metres till 8 am today, the sources said.

Altogether 47 domestic flights could not take off while 13 flights could not land, the sources said.

Eleven international flights were also delayed. Of them, six could not take off.

Of the five arrivals, three were diverted, the sources added.
