Zee Institute of Creative Arts (ZICA), run by the Mumbai-based Essel Group, would train 25 students on animation film-making and digital arts at its centre in the city. The ZICA centre which was opened in Bhubaneswar recently is exclusively meant for the students of the eastern region and the North-East. Speaking at the launch of the ZICA centre in the city, Subhadarshi Tripathy, head (youth business), Zee Learn, the education division of ETC Networks Limited, owned by the Essel Group said, “The eastern region of the country has provided some of the best professionals in animation and visual effects. ZICA chose Bhubaneswar for setting up its centre as the city is a cost effective destination and has a stable political environment.”

Initially, the ZICA centre in the city would offer a two-year course in Diploma and Animation Film Making as well as a 10-month course in Digital Arts. Later on, the institute would introduce a one-year diploma course in animation and six-month certificate courses in animation, visual effects and gaming.

While the two-year course will attract a course fee of Rs 2,85,000, the fee for the six-month short-term certificate courses would range from Rs 40,000-Rs 75,000.

Spread over an area of about 6,000 sq ft, the ZICA centre in the city would be run by six faculty members. The centre would offer facilities like library, conference hall and labs equipped with latest hardware. Apart from Mumbai, this would be the only other ZICA centre in the country. The ZICA centre in Mumbai trains about 250 students.
