Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jaswant Singh on Saturday attacked his own party for violating its constitution over not giving him a ticket, and also challenged the party into revealing whether the decisions taken were based on consensus.

"It is important that you all know that we have a big challenge to find out the real and the fake BJP. The difference between the two can only be decided by the people themselves, it is not my job to tell you. I always stood with the real BJP and also fought for it and there is a lot of work left which I want to do for the real BJP," Singh said.

"Secondly, I want to say that there has been transgressions taking place in BJP. The only way to remove such violations happening within the BJP can be corrected by asking the people itself as to how to self correct. BJP workers must delve deeply and think as to why these transgressions are happening in BJP's policies and principles. I have a question to ask from the leadership that whether they are taking decisions by overruling the constitution of the party, or was it done based on consensus, after reviewing all these issues in mind only then should BJP workers do take up work," Singh added.

The Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) decided on Friday not to give in to veteran leader Jaswant Singh's request to grant him a ticket to contest the general elections from Rajasthan's Barmer District.

Speculation is rife that Singh is likely to declare himself an independent and will contest from Barmer. Speculation is also rife that the RSS and Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje have had a say in denying Jaswant Singh the ticket.
