"Congress knows where to hit to make Karunanidhi writhe in pain", she said at an election rally at nearby Karamadai, referring to his reported remarks that DMK would not hesitate to shake hands with any 'hand' to uphold secular rule in the country.
Targetting DMK candidate and former Telecom Minister A Raja, an accused in 2G spectum scam, contesting from Nilgiris, she alleged the Karunanidhi's family had a role in it.
She asked why DMK had not walked out of UPA in 2010 itself if it was convinced that Raja was innocent and had nothing to hide.
On Raja's response that he wanted to revolutionise the telecom sector for the benefit of the poor, Jayalalaithaa asked if that were so why those companies, who were given licences, failed to start operations.
If Karunanidhi thought Raja was innocent in the case, why had he not filed a defamation case against those who came out with the Niraa Radia tape conversations with some of his family members, she asked.
Jayalalithaa appealed to voters to support AIADMK and elect all 40 candidates from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry to ensure that the party plays a greater role in the formation of the next government at the Centre.
