"People are voting out the Congress lock, stock and barrel. They are giving a positive and decisive mandate for the NDA, which will win 300 plus seats," BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar said.
Addressing a press conference here this afternoon, Javadekar said people were voting for a stable government, economic growth, jobs and good governance. What went against the Congress were inflation, corruption and non-governance.
"People are very angry with the Congress and hence (are) throwing it out," Javadekar said.
Poverty and backwardness used to be Congress' planks previously but have now gone away from it and come to the BJP.
"The way it belittled Narendra Modi as a chaiwala has boomeranged on the Congress and it lost not only the backward plank but also the working class," the BJP spokesman said.
"We have reviewed the polling trends in all the 232 constituencies where voting has been completed so far. Public mood is clearly visible and palpable. Hence the Congress and others are jittery and attacking Modi," he added.
Javadekar said the four southern states were taking an important position in this regime change. "In 2009, the UPA won 85 out of 129 Lok Sabha seats in the four southern states. Its number will now drop to just 15 while the NDA's will go up from 18 to 58," he said.
"That is a real magic happening in south India in this election," he added.
