The Madhya Pradesh chief electoral officer has ordered re-polling in two polling booths in Bhopal that have recorded, strangely, more than 100 per cent polling. Also the election commission has ordered four other booths to have re-polling on April 22 following complaints of booth capturing and poll related irregularities.

Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) local candidate Rachna Dhingra reached the election commissions office in Bhopal and demanded a probe into ‘reported’ more than 100 per cent polling at two booths. She expressed apprehensions of booth capturing at all those booths that have reported more than 80 per cent polling as state had reported 55 per cent voting.

A polling booth in Govindpura (Bhopal) has reported 296 votes against total vote of 288, similarly at another polling booth where there were only 193 male voters; the booth had reported 199 votes.  Polling at these booths was held during the second round of elections on April 17. Re-polling would be held at booths in Gwalior, Sagar, Bhopal and Rajgarh Lok Sabha seats.

Under Gwalior region the repolling has been scheduled in Jaderuakala polling booth, Pitua and Bakna polling booths in Sagar and Harjipura polling station in Rajgarh, an election commission spokesperson said.
